We are currently looking to fill a Head Softball Coaching position for Pecatonica High School for the 2024-25 school year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Be student-centered first with thinking, planning, and decision making.

• Instruct players and assistant coaches in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport. 

• Organize 

• Transportation

• Practices

• Games

• Family Communication

• Determine strategies for games and tournaments.

• Supervise student-athletes and program coaches during practices and games and ensure their safety.

• Oversee all levels of the softball program, which may include in and out of the primary Spring season.

• Run open gyms/weight room at a time conducive for scholar-athletes.

• Follow all rules, policies, and regulations of the Pecatonica Area School District and the WIAA.

• Attend athletic department meetings.

Please Note: Coaches will be required to complete the NFHS "Fundamentals of Coaching" course within the first year.

Qualifications

Preferred: 

• Certified Educator

• CPR/AED/First Aid Certification

• Fundamentals of Coaching course per NFHS

• Previous high school or college playing experience

• High school, club or college coaching experience

• Possess excellent organizational skills and provide program oversight

• Understands and teaches skills/fundamentals, rules of sport and associations; including technical and tactical components of the game 

• Demonstrates good interpersonal skills  and communicates clearly with athletes and parents

• Ability to supervise and monitor team in various setting

• Mentor and develop relationships with scholar-athletes and encourage a healthy, fun and competitive outlook in sport

• Previous head coaching experience
