The Payroll Specialist will provide payroll services and/or account payable services to Wisconsin school districts. Wisconsin school districts primarily use Skyward financial software (Skyward 2.0 and Qmlativ) financial software. Under the direction of the CESA 5 Director of Business Services or designee, the major responsibilities of the position include: payroll, accounting, financial software assistance, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and pre-audit accounting.
The Payroll Specialist will provide support in all areas of finance, including but not limited to; payroll, accounts payable, grant management, and accounts receivable. The position requires the ability to understand and apply fiscal policies and procedures. In-district training and report writing using the customer's software may also be a significant part of the job.

• Minimum of two years of successful experience in the field of payroll and experience in school finance preferred. Accounting, budgeting, contracts, auditing, and internal and external communications are preferred, but not required.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Skyward financial software experience is preferred but not required.
