The district is seeking a motivated, compassionate, Spanish-speaking individual to support our students here at the Coleman School District.


The ELL teacher will be passionate about helping students with language and will work collaboratively with teacher teams to support our students' learning through creative and differentiated learning pathways. This ELL teacher will be expected to learn the WIDA Framework and access levels and will have the ability to articulate student needs based on levels.


Additional duties - Provide professional development to staff as requested. - Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the ELL program and curriculum. - Administer multi-level assessments and evaluations, specific to monolingual or bilingual instruction. - Work in collaboration with both the ELL and grade-level teams.


Discusses students' academic and behavioral performance with parents - Attends meetings, conferences, and in-services, as well as participates in special events of the school and the agency


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the unique needs of ELL students.

  • Provide instruction that meets the district’s curriculum and state standards.

  • Assess and track student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.

  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support the academic and social-emotional development of students.

  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Appropriate Wisconsin State Certification – English as a Second Language (preferred); Bilingual in Spanish (preferred); 1088/ 1083 Elementary/Middle Level Education.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Translate written materials and interpret verbal exchanges periodically throughout the year

  • Be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, and teachers

  • Communicate effectively and in a timely manner

  • The teacher is responsible for working with other ELL Staff to carry out the district's bilingual bicultural plan for the district. 

 

Start Date: August 15, 2024 (new teacher in-service), August 21, 2024 (whole staff in-service). Opportunities are available for extra-curricular positions.
