New Berlin West Girls Softball is seeking a head coach for the 2025 season. We are looking for a candidate with strong leadership qualities, a positive, upbeat attitude, a love for the game and a desire to work with student-athletes.

Coaching experience and/or knowledge of the game is required as well as strong communication and organizational skills. Coaches should be able to manage a quality staff, manage program operations and collaborate with the greater athletic department. Successful coaches will adhere to all school, conference and WIAA rules.

A successful candidate for this position will possess:

  • Previous softball coaching experience
  • An ability to communicate clearly, effectively and respectfully with student-athletes, their families and other program stakeholders
  • The ability to manage a quality coaching staff who successfully work together to provide the best possible experience for our student-athletes
  • The ability to scout opponents and implement specific game plans heading into each contest
  • The ability to successfully manage the program’s annual budget
  • A desire and willingness to work cooperatively with each of the coaching staffs at New Berlin West
  • Discipline and integrity to hold themself, assistant coaches and student-athletes to high behavioral, academic and performance expectations
  • An ability to strictly adhere to rules and regulations set forth by the school, District, conference and WIAA
  • An ability to interact positively with students, staff, parents, competitors, officials, fans and the media
  • A willingness to assist with youth programs within the New Berlin community and encourage student-athletes to give back to their community through camps/clinics and other volunteer opportunities
  • An ability to complete all WIAA and district certification requirements.  This include ongoing WIAA District and First Aid/CPR/AED training and certifications
  • The ability to work cooperatively with student-athletes, their families and teachers to assist all student-athletes in maximizing their academic and athletic potential
  • The enthusiasm and commitment to support the Booster Club’s efforts
