Head Softball Coach

Spring Softball / WIAA - Season to start on March 17, 2025, other duties ASAP

 

Job Description:

BDHS is home to over 1000 students from Beaver Dam and surrounding communities.  The academic experience for our students includes over 165 different course offerings, focused into 13 different curricular teams (i.e. English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Business, Music, etc.). In conjunction with academics, BDHS currently offers over 32 co-curricular activities and 24 sponsored interscholastic athletic teams to extend learning beyond the classroom.


The BDHS softball program competes in the Badger (North) Conference and WIAA tournament series.  Student-athletes participating in softball at BDHS often have a great deal of prior softball experience and the desire for success.  All BDHS coaches are expected to be teachers first, incorporating the teaching and modeling of good character, self-discipline, respect, honesty, responsibility, sportsmanship, and sacrifice while striving to win and also creating a great experience for all those involved.

Candidates must be licensed to teach in Wisconsin or be eligible for NFICEP certification.  Candidates must demonstrate the keen ability to organize and supervise a total sports program and have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of softball at an advanced level. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to successfully work with and motivate student-athletes.



Preference will be given to candidates with the following:

  • Three or more years experience coaching softball at the varsity/JV (WIAA) levels or equivalent club fastpitch experience (ASA)

  • Knowledge of the existing system and WIAA softball regulations

  • Evidence of understanding risk injury factors in softball

  • Scheduling, budgeting, and equipment management experience

  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with other coaches, administrators, parents and media organizations

  • Ability to work with youth and developmental programs to build the program.
