The Sauk Prairie School District has a 1.0 FTE opening for a School Nurse. The primary role of the School Nurse is to support and advance the health, academic success, and life-long learning of students.

Applicants must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully and positively with students and staff. The School Nurse monitors compliance of health requirements, such as, but not limited to reviewing and interpreting immunization and other health documentation, the management of medication administration, and the training of staff. He or she will also provide care and case management for students with chronic health needs and work collaboratively with other district nursing staff to provide continuity of the delivery of nursing services for students and staff.

This position would be for the school year and summer program hours as well. We will also pay for individual days to train with our nursing staff in June and July. This year we are asking to begin earlier than the normal nurse schedule to accommodate training, job shadowing and summer school help as well.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Science (RN) is preferred but will consider candidates with an Associate's Degree in Nursing. Licensed by State of Wisconsin as a Registered Nurse. Department of Public Instruction (DPI) School Nurse Certification preferred. Current AED/CPR and First Aid certification.

District Description: The district includes Sauk City and Prairie du Sac, two “next door” villages known as Sauk Prairie. They are located on the beautiful Wisconsin River. Thirteen towns and the village of Merrimac are also in the district. The area features rolling hills, meadows, bluffs, forests, lakes and streams. The district offers small-town, rural living with easy access to the Madison urban area (25 miles) and to the Wisconsin Dells recreation area (28 miles). The district serves 2,800 students, and is comprised of six learning communities with a high school of 850 students, middle school of 600 students and four elementary schools of 1,350 students.
