The Mukwonago Area School District, approximately 25 miles southwest of Milwaukee, is seeking a knowledgeable and dynamic high school mathematics teacher for a full-time position beginning in August 2024. Mukwonago High School has an enrollment of about 1,600 students in grades 9-12 and is located in the village of Mukwonago. This is a full-time position that will be responsible for teaching a variety of math courses to students in grades 9-12.
The teacher in this position will provide systematic interventions to improve academic achievement for students, specifically in the area of math. The successful candidate will also collaborate with classroom teachers, instructional coaches, principals, and other team members to provide high quality and systematic interventions and complete student progress monitoring. The ability to maintain records as required by the school, district, and/or state will be critical. The successful candidate will be able to monitor and communicate student progress with students, families, administrators, and teachers.
The finalist for this position will join a dedicated group of teachers to work collaboratively within the department and other professional learning communities to improve student learning. The individual will have a desire to make deep connections and get to know the needs of each student. The final candidate will also be expected to be involved in the school community beyond the classroom through coaching, advising, and committee work. Candidates must possess strong classroom management skills in line with Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and demonstrate instructional strategies that promote student engagement and efficacy.
Job requirements include the completion of a teacher certification program in Secondary Math, and the candidate must possess or be eligible for a Math license (1400) through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
