Sauk Prairie High School is a comprehensive 9-12 high school offering a challenging and rigorous program of study for our students. We are looking for student-centered, energetic educator with a growth mindset to join our Special Education Department. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history that would include the following experiences:
- Use of data to inform programming goals and evaluate student progress
- Solid background conducting functional behavioral analysis
- Creating and monitoring behavior intervention plans
- Knowledge and implementation of trauma-informed instructional practices
- Content-area literacy instruction
- Meaningful inclusion
Caseloads are closely monitored district wide and special education teachers are provided with one release day per month to address tasks specific to the work. Additionally, Sauk Prairie School District recently passed a highly competitive compensation plan and a best in region benefit package.
District Description:
The district includes Sauk City and Prairie du Sac, two “next door” villages known as Sauk Prairie. They are located on the beautiful Wisconsin River. Thirteen towns and the village of Merrimac are also in the district. The area features rolling hills, meadows, bluffs, forests, lakes and streams. The district offers small-town, rural living with easy access to the Madison urban area (25 miles) and to the Wisconsin Dells recreation area (28 miles). The district serves 2,800 students, and comprises six learning communities with a high school of 850 students, middle school of 600 students and four elementary schools of 1,350 students.
WI DPI required certification - one of the following: 1801 - Cross Categorical or 1810 - Cognitive/Intellectual Disabilities
