The Howards Grove School District is looking to hire a Middle School Track Coach for the 2023-24 season. This coaching position requires knowledge of the sport, the ability to communicate that knowledge in a manner appropriate to school-age student athletes, keeping the best interest of Howards Grove athletes in mind when making decisions. The successful candidate will have a belief that sportsmanship is critical to the success of the program, and will also have the ability to work and communicate with all other coaches, administration and the community, as well as be a team player. Schedules and practices will be discussed at the time of interview. There are daytime and weekend time commitments associated with this position. The track season begins in March.

 


The ideal candidate will head our Middle School track program and attend the meets that we schedule for those athletes. Ideally, this candidate will have experience working with and/or participating in track events. The desired candidate may be asked to assist the high school coaches and/or athletes in the various aspects of track and field. Coaching experience preferred but not required.

Basic understanding of the sport. Previous coaching experience and/or participation in track events preferred.

Practices are held after school; meets are held on week nights and some weekends.

Must also possess good organizational, management, and communication skills and demonstrate the ability to work with middle school student athletes.
