Full Time
The Wisconsin Virtual Academy, a public virtual charter school authorized by the McFarland School District and powered by K12 Inc, is looking for dynamic, highly-motivated, organized interventionist to begin immediately. Candidates must have a passion for helping all students be successful, must be adept at navigating multiple systems simultaneously and effectively, must be innovative and solution-oriented, and must be excited for the unique realities of an online schooling environment. This position is responsible for ensuring that identified students achieve data-driven math and literacy goals. The Interventionist will collaborate with the MTSS Coordinator to define and lead data analysis processes, provide direct student intervention and support, manage and evaluate the learning and intervention process, serve as a classroom teacher resource for math and literacy needs, and respond to students’ individual needs. This is primarily a work from home position with minimal travel. This is not a position of the McFarland School District and does not have district benefits. This position will be employed by Four Lakes Education Inc, the governing board to the Wisconsin Virtual Academy (WIVA). The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work performed in this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties and/or skills required; other duties may be assigned. Design and facilitate live synchronous intervention/instruction, manage the learning process, evaluate student performance, maintain records, and plan lessons. Collaborate with peers in order to provide a positive experience for students. Support parents with student curricular and instructional issues. Align curriculum and instruction to state standards. Prioritize analysis of student data to provide data-driven instruction and support. Build community by contributing to school message boards, newsletters and events; Participate in online meetings and training as scheduled. Travel to and participate in Professional Development, in-person school events, state testing, and other events/meetings as needed. Orient students to their courses, communicate requirements, set and enforce deadlines, maintain regular office hours, and conduct instructional sessions. Understand how both diverse and unique characteristics of students and their families impact required support. Evaluate student work and provide timely feedback, alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress, and maintain regular contact with students and families. Develop positive and engaging relationships with students and parents. Be available to students, parents, and staff from 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday - Friday or agreed upon hours. Work from a professional home office environment, conducive to video and audio needs and a structured schedule MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: State of Wisconsin Reading Teacher License #316 or commitment to completing licensure within 2 years of employment. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Shared view of the virtual academy’s mission. Strong content and subject-matter knowledge. An ability to support and guide adults as well as students. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Organization and time-management skills. Ability to pass required background check.
