Program Support Teacher (PST) - Middle School DPI licensure #5080 Director of Special Education (preferred) or any special ed teacher license The Beaver Dam Unified School District is seeking a Program Support Teacher to serve as a liaison between the Director of Special Education and the building level to facilitate program level planning and staff. Essential Knowledge and Abilities: Objective observation and assessment techniques. Administering and interpreting the results of norm-referenced and curriculum-based measures for purposes of instructional design and delivery. Problem-solving and progress-monitoring techniques related to the design and implementation of child-specific instruction/intervention strategies. Collaborative communication and consultation. Providing parents, teachers, and other professional staff with instructional and behavioral strategies to support the progress of students in regular education settings. Interpretation and application of WI impairment criteria. Providing IEP teams with leadership in determining the need for special education. Responsibilities/Examples of Work: Collaboration with and ongoing support to teachers, parents, and other staff in the design, implementation, and monitoring of child-specific instructional/intervention strategies. Attend DPI program support teacher (PST) meetings and training opportunities in a wide-range of areas to stay current with current interventions, assessment, and special education strategies. Provide staff development to certified and non-certified personnel related to the assessment and instructional/behavioral needs of students, including students with disabilities. Leadership in district special education planning, programming, and implementation. Serve on committees as assigned. Other duties related to special education as assigned. Required Training and Experience: Teaching and DPI certification Serving as an IEP team participant and facilitator.
