D.C. Everest is looking for a Long Term 3K Guest Teacher at Rothschild Elementary for approximately December 7, 2023 through February 29, 2024. This position is 4 hours per day, and if interested, there is opportunity for additional subbing in the afternoons. WHAT YOU’LL DO • Ensures the safety of each student enrolled in the class whether in the classroom, on the playground, or in common areas. • Maintains regular observation and evaluation of each student's development and progress as directed by administration. • Maintains portfolio for each student. • Completes weekly lesson plans, goals, and newsletters. • Accepts and maintains ongoing responsibility for the ordered arrangement, appearance, décor, and cleanliness of the learning environment of the classroom. • Creates safe and appropriate diapering, toileting, and handwashing areas and helps students with all personal hygiene skills. • Plans and implements age and developmentally appropriate classroom practices that will include the areas of physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs of the young students. • Serves as a role model for students in the areas of attitude, speech, and actions. • Treats each student with dignity and respect for his/her cultural background. • Encourages students’ development in the areas of building self-confidence, problem solving, and taking responsibility for their actions. • Interacts with each student daily during circle time, centers, snacks, playground, free play, etc. • Nurtures positive relationships with parents and establishes continuous positive communication. • Works collaboratively with team members that may include English Learner Assistants, Early Childhood staff, and other building staff. • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. WHAT IT TAKES • Associate or bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or similar degree required. • A Wisconsin DPI teaching license is not required. • Must meet Wisconsin State requirements and Child Care Certifications as necessary - may be obtained through degree or Preschool Credential. • CPR/First Aid, SIDS/Shaken Baby Certified or willingness to obtain. WHAT YOU’LL RECEIVE • $18.00 per hour. • This position does not qualify for benefits.
