The District serves 1,510 students from the City of Lake Mills and the surrounding area in three schools: Lake Mills Elementary School, Middle School, and High School. In 2022, Lake Mills Area School District was awarded the Best Place to Work in Lake Mills from the Lake Mills Leader’s Best of Lake Mills! LMASD is the highest achieving school district in Jefferson County Wisconsin and has strong academic curricular programs at all levels, as well as excellent music, athletic, drama, and extracurricular programs. We are proud to educate our students in some of the top facilities in the country for environmental construction and design. Our elementary school is LEED Platinum certified and was built as a house concept which allows our staff to foster a sense of community and togetherness throughout the school day. The Lake Mills community is supportive and involved with the schools. Lake Mills is ideally located in south-central Wisconsin near Interstate Hwy 94, fifty miles west of Milwaukee and twenty-five miles east of Madison, Wisconsin. The city has a beautiful central square and park and is built on the shores of “legendary” Rock Lake.
