The Wausau School District is seeking a Nutrition Service Technical Assistant to enhance the dedication to Our Mission... To Advance Student Learning, Achievement, and Success. We currently serve approximately 8000 students in our community. Our district consists of 2 High Schools, 2 Middle Schools, 13 Elementary Schools, and 2 Charter Schools. Our Schools are staffed with highly qualified, talented employees. We have exciting things happening in the district with NEW WAGES and employee engagement! We currently have the following positions open: Wausau East High School, 4 hours per day Wausau West High School, 5 hours per day Wausau West High School, 4 hours per day We are seeking a part-time Nutrition Service Technical Assistant for the 23-24 school year. This position qualifies for retirement with the Wisconsin Retirement System. The Nutrition Services Department is responsible for the day to day operations by preparing food for student meals; assisting with set-up, service, and clean-up; and computer operation during meal service. The position assists the Nutrition Services Director in ensuring that the District's program complies with local, state, and federal agency requirements. Experience/knowledge of the following: * Food production and service * Experience in food production and service in an institutional setting preferred * Food safety/HACCP * USDA child nutrition programs * Nutrition services equipment use and care * Computer and cashiering skills * Must work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers, school personnel, and students * Basic math, computer, and e-mail skills Educational Requirements: * High school diploma or equivalent * Completion of food safety class within 6 months of employment
