POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Athletic Director is responsible for overseeing and executing the operations of The Mosinee School District athletic teams and activity programming. This includes our high school, middle school and elementary grade school programs as well. The Athletic Director is responsible for accomplishing goals and objectives that are consistent with the mission and vision of The School District of Mosinee and will interact with numerous constituencies, internal and external to the school. They will fall specifically under the supervision of the Superintendent of Schools, the Building Principals or their Designee (s). MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education Requirements: Bachelor Degree in education or related field with a Master’s degree preferred. Required Certifications/Licenses: Prefer Director of Athletics Licensure but not required. CPR and First Aid Certification Experience: Previous head coaching experience and varied knowledge of sports PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must be mission-driven, demonstrate highest integrity, and be able to live the school district mission of: Improve student progress academically and socially preparing them to be productive members of a multicultural society. Promote partnerships with the community to create multiple opportunities for learning. Foster lifelong learners who are self-motivated with adaptability for future change. Excellent written, verbal communication, and listening skills with keen attention to detail Lifelong learner themself who is reflective and always looking to improve ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work performed in this position. Athletic Director Responsibilities: Have a passion for being part of a team-oriented, mission driven school environment built upon community values Constantly seeking to better serve its students and families Have a proven track record of successfully leading athletic programs at the collegiate and/or high school levels Courageously lead through example while fostering a culture of accountability Participate in the hiring of new faculty and staff with coaching credentials and interest Attract, manage and evaluate all coaches, athletic trainers and athletic department staff on an annual basis Responsible for supervising the athletic programs for the Mosinee School District Represents the school district at conference meetings, scheduling of teams, hiring coaches, attending events, monitoring/evaluating coaches Develop and monitor annual athletic budget Maintain positive working relationships among the athletic programs and the academic administration Work closely with the Great Northern Conference, and the WIAA Oversee the development and implementation of all Mosinee High School athletic policies and procedures Design and oversee a school-wide system to identify and address the concerns of athletes, parents, coaches, teacher, staff and other groups in a timely and effective manner Develop and oversee a system for security and crowd control at all home athletic contests The Mosinee School District does not discriminate in the employment of staff on the basis of the Protected Classes of race, color, national origin, age, sex (including transgender status, change of sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity), pregnancy, creed or religion, genetic information, handicap or disability, marital status, citizenship status, veteran status, military service (as defined in 111.32, Wis.
