Description: The School District of Rhinelander has a Reading Interventionist opening for the 2023-2024 school year.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. A valid teacher’s license (certificate) issued by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
2. A valid 1316 or 1317 license issued by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction or willingness to obtain.
3. At least one year of teaching experience.
4. Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively within the classroom or in a resource room.
5. Demonstrates leadership and ability to work effectively with parents; demonstrates skill in organizing student, parent, and/or teacher programs; and demonstrates ability to choose appropriate materials and supplies for the reading intervention program.
REPORTS TO:
Building Principal
JOB GOAL:
To model and provide reading instruction that develops effective learning strategies. To provide leadership and coordination which ensures that the reading intervention program provides educational experiences that meet the needs of the students and staff served.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Follow district procedures for implementation of the school-wide Title 1, targeted Title 1, or other school improvement plan.
Collaborate with classroom teachers, other interventionists, instructional coaches, and district reading specialist to coordinate program activities.
Establish a schedule and assist in developing activities to be used by school staff.
Participate in meetings to plan strategies for students in an equitable multi-level system of supports.
Provide instruction for whole class, small group, or individual students as identified needs indicate.
Provide leadership, as needed, in the components of the school-wide Title 1, targeted Title 1, or other school improvement plan.
Maintain such records and reports as necessary.
Communicate with parents and classroom teacher in relation to student progress.
Provide input to the building principal concerning reading instruction and school reading data.
Participate in professional growth activities to maintain current practice and theory.
Provide intervention push-in and/or coaching support when appropriate.
Performs other duties as assigned.
