The School District of Somerset is taking applications for a 6th and 7th grade general music and 5th and 6th band long term substitute teacher from January 16- June 2, 2023. Candidates must meet Wisconsin Certification as both a general music teacher (license 515) and instrumental music teacher (license 505) and have knowledge of middle school students. Challenge and stretch student thinking through insightful questioning, fostering excitement for learning and instilling a sense of ownership in students. Utilize a variety of assessment methods to understand student needs in learning. Provide descriptive and actionable feedback to students to ensure student learning progress. Design learning plans that develop 21st Century skills such as self-directed learning, critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, well-being, global competence, and communication. Be committed to the middle school learning community beyond the classroom. Demonstrate a passion to work with middle school-aged students. Understand and apply the WI Model Academic Standards in order to improve student learning.
