Part-Time Auditorium Manager Position starting September 19, 2022. Base pay is $27.00+/hour based on experience. Position is eligible for paid holidays and paid leave time. The Auditorium Manager is responsible for all aspects of the St. Croix Central Community Auditorium including, technical services, scheduling, marketing, maintenance, and support. Responsible for promoting the auditorium to district, community and extended area performance organizations. Solves problems related to scenery, sets, props, furniture, special effects, lighting and sound. Manages and ensures orderly operation and maintenance of the facility. Provide technical services, consultation and support to theater and arts programs in the school district. Responsible to train and manage technical staff, as well as to instruct adults and students in the technical workings of the auditorium. Provide auditorium users and Administration with pre and final facility use costs evaluation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILLITIES Other duties may be assigned. • Supervise auditorium events as needed (including but not exclusive to lighting and sound) supporting assemblies, drama productions, musical performances, speakers, meetings and other events as needed. • As appropriate, serve as the technical director or production manager and/or lighting and sound designer for school programs, student performances and programs, and performances and programs associated with contracted users. • Trains and/or supervises auditorium technicians; provides technicians with comprehensive knowledge and training with auditorium operations and technical inventory as to be capable of substitute event management and support when necessary. • Introduce staff and students to the auditorium spaces, proper etiquette, and act as a resource to staff. • Work with St. Croix Central staff and administration on auditorium scheduling and use. • Coordinate the technical requirements for events so that equipment is provided and any overlaps are properly managed. • Perform day-to-day maintenance on auditorium systems (shop, rigging, lighting and sound equipment), and notify building administration about maintenance and upgrade needs. • Teach safe and proper use of auditorium systems, equipment and backstage areas (catwalks, fly galleries, control booth, and storage areas). • Maintain safety and efficiency of all auditorium technical facilities: physical plant, stage rigging, construction area, lighting and sound equipment. • Maintain inventory of consumables (spare parts, tapes, cables and other supplies) necessary for the effective operation of the auditorium. • Work with Administration to identify technical needs of the auditorium, develop facilities usage policies, maintain and periodically upgrade technical equipment and systems, and articulate short and long-term facility development goals. • Coordinate post-production storage of materials and cleanup. • Work with external contracts to maintain and supervise repairs in the auditorium. • Prepares accessible seating areas in auditorium in advance of events as per ADA statue requirements and as appropriate to anticipated audience needs; keeps all technical support systems for handicapped patrons in a state of readiness. • Keep skills current through classes/conventions/conferences/online learning, especially of technology changes in lighting, sound, rigging, and computer systems relating to theater. • Emphasize safety practices and procedures for all persons in the theater spaces (audience, performers, and technical crews), including issues of fire safety, overcrowding, and materials and tool usage. QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience • Operational knowledge and skill with state of the art performing arts facilities and technologies, including but not exclusive to computer controlled lighting, sound systems, counter-weight stage rigging, and performance support communications systems. • Production experience in stage lighting, sound, and scenic design for a variety of performing arts events, including music, theatre, and dance. Other Qualifications • Ability to work and interact effectively with students, staff, arts center clients, production personnel, contracted technicians, vendors, and public. • Commitment to the mission and vision of St. Croix Central School District. • Able to function independently while operating effectively within a team environment. • Possess solid general computer skills, including ability to work in Windows and Apple environments. Proficiency with Google, MS Office Suite, Internet, and other programs as needed. • Exhibits a high level of professionalism, leadership, creative problem solving, diplomacy, and the ability to manage complex projects with minimal supervision. • Physical ability to perform essential functions of the position, as noted below, with or without reasonable accommodation.
