Salem School District is seeking qualified candidates for special education teachers in elementary and middle school levels starting in the 2023-2024 school year. Salem School District is a K-8 district serving approximately 1,000 students in the southeast corner of Wisconsin (just west of Kenosha). Salem Grade School is a single building district, therefore travel between buildings is never required. Salem strives to serve students in the least restrictive environment and has a large student services team to provide additional support for student success. Salem is looking for qualified candidates to support a continuum of care that meets the needs of all of our learners. Requirements and Qualifications: -Certification in an area of Special Education - preferred Cross-Categorical 1801 OR the ability to get an emergency license based on the DPI requirements -Experience working in teams of 4-6 -Experience co-planning with general education teachers -Experience using progress monitoring data to inform instruction -Ability to plan for specially designed instruction for both academic and functional needs -Ability to adjust to the ever changing needs of all students -Experience with case management and the development of IEPs and behavior intervention plans -Ability to oversee the schedules and roles of paraprofessionals
