The IT Assistant is in charge of supporting technology across the district. It includes inventory management, setup, troubleshooting, and problem solving issues to determine and document solutions. Inventory management involves knowing where technology is throughout the district and being able to update any changes that occur. Setup and troubleshooting involve having a knowledge base to be able to successfully follow a set of instructions to set up technology as well as troubleshoot any technology that isn’t working properly and documenting information as needed. This position also carries responsibility for assisting in the high school library. The IT Assistant reports to the IT Director and works closely with other staff including the Library Media Specialist and building principals. IT Job Duties (approximately 80% of role): - Desktop computer repair (RAM fixes, cords/cables, beep codes, etc) - Chromebook tips and tricks to fix issues - Chromebook hardware repair - Projector and TV understanding (audio/video in classrooms) - Printer and all other OSD hardware understanding - Basic servicing and troubleshooting of Chromebooks - Managing Chromebooks warranty repairs - Maintaining Website security using Securly - Utilizing and supporting Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Classroom, Meet - Managing Chrome/Google Extensions and Apps - Understanding Google Admin Console basics - Understanding basics of all software applications - Managing a few software applications as needed - Managing Chromebook organization, distribution, and repairs - Imaging Computers labs and other Desktop computers using SCCM Library Job Duties (approximately 20% of role): - Assists in maintaining an up-to-date catalog and circulation system - Assist in processing new library acquisitions and weeding outdated library materials - Keeps the library media center organized, clean, neat, and welcoming to visitors - Communicate regularly with staff on new materials - Helps students and faculty locate materials through the use of the automated catalog and electronic resources - Assists in finding and verifying bibliographic information - Sorts/shelves books, issues/receives library materials, records identifying data in DESTINY, inspects returned books, computes and receives fines - Arranges for interlibrary loans and maintains appropriate interlibrary loan records and reports - Supervises and executes inventory - Helps to maintain a friendly and helpful atmosphere for students and faculty - Performs any other related duties that may be assigned by the library information specialist
