Kewaskum Middle School is looking for a skilled and highly motivated school counselor with strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Candidates must have the ability to work successfully and positively with parents, staff, and students in a school environment. Knowledge and experience in RtI and preparing students for career and college readiness is essential. Experience with Skyward and master schedule development a plus. The primary responsibilities will be to: - meet with new students and orient them to school procedures and learning opportunities. - act as case manager of 504 plans and Individual Learning Plans for EL students. - demonstrate positive interpersonal relations with students, educational staff, parents, and community partners. - promote Academic, Career, and Social/Emotional Development. - provide professional assistance and support to individual students or small groups of students during times of transition, heightened stress, critical change or other situations impeding student success. - communicate and work cooperatively with administrators, teachers and students to promote a positive learning environment. - regularly communicate with parents and/or guardians regarding their childs' educational program and process. - communicate with district staff regarding student needs. - collaborate with district staff to develop effective transition plans between buildings and assist students with course selection and pathway identification as they transition to High School.
