Summary: The School District of Menomonee Falls is a Destination District that strives for organizational excellence through the deliberate application of continuous improvement for students and staff. The Principal will serve as a role model, lead learner and instructional leader to fulfill the mission (Engage, Learn, Improve), vision (The relentless pursuit of excellence one person at a time) and the Big Aims of the District so as to provide the best possible opportunities for student growth and development both educationally and personally.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
• Manage, evaluate and supervise effective and clear procedures for the operation and functioning of the school consistent with the philosophy, mission, values and goals of the district.
• Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all staff for performance and accountability.
• Participate in the recruitment, selection, placement and orientation of instructional and support staff.
• Encourage and initiate continued improvement in curriculum and teaching methods in cooperation with District Administration, subject matter specialists and faculty.
• Supervise and evaluate performance of assigned personnel in accordance with the district’s adopted uniform guidelines for evaluation and assessment. Recommends corrective action in cases of substandard performance.
• Lead the staff in the identification of long and short-range curriculum needs and bring these needs to the attention of the Administration.
• Keep informed of the latest curriculum innovations by professional study and attendance at intra-district meetings, conferences and conventions.
• Develop and maintain an ongoing professional development program through faculty meetings, individual conferences or other techniques.
• Assists the Athletic/Activities Director to coordinate and supervise all co-curricular activities of the school so that they may have their proper place in the total program.
• Evaluate assessment data as sources in determining strengths and weaknesses in the instructional program.
• Adopt of a systematic approach to ensure school improvement plan alignment, implementation and staff engagement.
• Apply continuous improvement principles to improve student growth, operational efficiency, and student and staff experience.
• Maintain a standard of student behavior designed to command respect and minimize school and classroom disruption.
• Identify intellectual, physical, social and emotional needs affecting students’ success in school, and taking steps to direct and coordinate the efforts of staff and parents with District services and special education personnel.
• Participate in the development of district-wide and site budgets, allocations, and assist in adjustments.
• Maintain an educational philosophy and school climate which encourages cooperation, equity and accessibility for all staff, students and families.
• Maintain positive, cooperative and mutually supportive relationships with staff, parents, school volunteers, and the community.
• Communicate and implement policy and procedure changes from the Board, or from State and Federal legislation, at the building level.
• Inspect school site with regards to health and safety and assume responsibility for the proper use of equipment, property, and buildings under this jurisdiction and cooperate with the director of business services and/or supervisor of buildings and grounds in these matters.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING):
• Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration
• Current Department of Instruction Principal license
• Minimum of five successful years of teaching experience
• Minimum of two (2) years of administrative or supervisory experience, preferably at the secondary level

• Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and the Board of Education policies.
