We have an exciting opportunity for a Computer Technician. The Computer Technician is our hands on first line of support to our faculty, students, and staff. Ideal candidates will have an outstanding personality, strong work ethic, and the ability to think critically to solve problems. The Computer Technician supports an end user environment of Macs, iPads, Chromebooks, and a limited number of PCs. Responsibilities: Update and load software using imaging systems. Perform preventative maintenance on hardware and software. Assist in the development of written “How to” documents Set up newly acquired equipment and install Operating System image. Maintain service, equipment and software records. Attends internal and external educational programs and professional meetings as available for continuing professional education. Act as a resource to instructional staff in the use of technology. Diagnose, upgrade or repair computer hardware and/or peripherals. Respond to work requests submitted through the district’s online Tech Request System. Demonstrate courteous and professional treatment of all students, parents and employees of the Sparta Area School District. Perform such other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology. Compensation: The Sparta Area School District offers a comprehensive pay and benefits package. Compensation is based on qualifications and experience and is benefits eligible. A two year Associates Degree in an Information Technology related field with relevant direct experience is prefered. In lieu of degree, we may accept a combination of work experience and/or industry relevant certifications. Ideal candidates will have experience supporting PCs, Macs, iPads and Chromebooks. Experience using JAMF or AV experience is highly prefered.
