Position Details
he School District is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Coordinator to manage all district payroll functions and employee benefit administration. This full-time, year-round position is responsible for accurately processing payroll for all staff, maintaining employee pay records, administering benefits and deductions, ensuring compliance with payroll tax, retirement, ACA, COBRA, and other state/federal reporting requirements, and supporting confidential accounting and HR-related processes.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll, bookkeeping, and benefits administration, along with strong knowledge of accounting practices, payroll systems, and employment regulations. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with employees, administrators, and external agencies. Experience with school finance systems, payroll software, and employee records management is preferred.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely employee compensation, benefits administration, and compliance with district payroll and reporting requirements.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Accounting, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of payroll and bookkeeping experience required
- Knowledge of payroll tax filings, employee benefits, retirement reporting, and compliance requirements
- Strong computer skills including spreadsheets, databases, and payroll/accounting software
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple deadlines accurately
