Position Details
Performs a variety of non-teaching classroom support and student support services as directed under the supervision of an assigned teacher. The Special Education Aide supports assigned students across various settings, ensuring the successful implementation of their personalized plans. This involves direct collaboration with the child’s special education teacher, delivering direct academic and behavioral support, collaborating with teachers to adapt instruction, collaborating with other Special Education Aides to ensure student safety and meet individual student needs, and monitoring student progress. The Special Education Aide also assists students with daily routines, supports activities in the classroom, at recess, in the lunchroom, provides assistance with mobility and assistive devices, and manages behavioral interventions while adhering to safety and hygiene protocols.
