STUDENT HEALTH ROOM ASSISTANTS (2)

 

JOB LOCATION:     Positions are at High School and an Elementary School

HOURS:                 Part-Time – 5.75 hours per day on days students are present

Monday-Friday, between the hours of 7:30 am - 3:00 pm

Hours to be determined based on student need              

SALARY RATE:         $18.85 per hour – Grade F, Step 1

START DATE:            August 26, 2025 for training purposes

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:  The job duties of the Health Aide will include, but will not be limited to: monitor and track special health concerns of students, monitor immunizations, administer g-tube feedings, administer daily and as needed medications, administer emergency medications as needed, complete hearing and vision screenings, be a member of the medical emergency response team, and provide basic first aid to students with minor injuries/illnesses in the health room.  This individual will be supporting any additional complex medical needs based on the student population. The individual will also provide support to students in the classroom, lunchroom, and hallways as needed. 

 

This position will work under the direct supervision of the Watertown School District School Nurse and will receive appropriate training from the nurse.  The aide is also under the supervision of the building administration. 

 

The qualifications for this aide position include a high school diploma or equivalent; experience and/or desire to work with high school students; ability to interact and work with students, staff, and parents in a positive manner; having basic computer skills for record keeping; and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Special consideration may be given to applicants who have had past experience and enjoy working in the medical field, such as a certified medical assistant or certified nursing assistant.
