Position Overview:
The Richland School District is seeking a full-time Early Literacy Coach to start in the 2026-27 school year.  The primary goal of the early literacy coaching program is to improve local systems so that schools increase the percentage of pupils meeting or exceeding expectations on the reading portion of the 3rd-grade Forward Exam.  The coach will facilitate professional learning and serve as a system and instructional coach for the school.  The Early Literacy Coach will collect and analyze early literacy data to design an early literacy system that results in responsive instruction for each and every student.  This will include supporting the work of 5K-3rd-grade educators and administrators to ensure universal instruction and the continuum of supports result in all students meeting grade-level reading expectations.

The successful candidate must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a reading specialist license from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.  A candidate with a reading license (316) may be considered if they are willing to work towards obtaining a reading specialist license.

The Richland School District serves approximately 1172 students in the city of Richland Center and the greater Richland County area. Our District is located in the beautiful Driftless region of Southwest Wisconsin. The historic city of Richland Center is a regional hub situated between Madison and La Crosse.

The Richland School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Educator.
