School Year, Monday-Friday, 7:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Part Time
The Berlin Area School District is searching for a motivated and reliable part-time (5.25 hours/day, school year only) food service staff member. This food service position assists with food preparation to keep our schools in compliance with federal and state legislation and policies that shape and impact student nutrition. This position will work at Clay Lamberton Elementary School and does require strong math and computer literacy skills in order to operate the point of sale terminal during meal service.
More specifically, the ideal candidate will:
- Assist in preparing and serving food.
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining kitchen facilities as directed.
- Prepare food per directions and guidelines.
- Ensure food preparation duties are performed in a timely manner.
- Meet food preparation deadlines.
- Appropriately operate all kitchen equipment as required.
- Safely handle all equipment and utensils.
- Understands and applies math and computer literacy skills at a point of sale terminal.
- Provide professional customer service to students, staff, and visitors, maintain confidentiality regarding student information, and assist in creating a positive cafeteria environment.
Clay Lamberton Elementary (4K-5), Berlin Middle School (6-8), and Berlin High School (9-12) sit on the same campus and serve as a hub of activity for the greater Berlin community. The Berlin Area School District is composed of 14 municipalities, with the City of Berlin at the center. Berlin is a rural community with a population of 5,500 located approximately 20 minutes west of Oshkosh and 10 minutes north of Green Lake. The Fox River runs through the center of the historic Victorian downtown. Agriculture, health services, light industry and retail shops comprise Berlin’s economy.
Salary, benefits, and length of contract: This position works approximately 182 days during the school year with an hourly wage starting at $14.44.
