The School District of Janesville is hiring for an Assistant Head Boys Wrestling Coachat Craig High School.

This position begins in Winter Season of School Year 2026/2027.
 
  • Primary Function: To work directly under the Head Coach with a primary focus on the development, technical instruction, and competitive success of the Boys’ Varsity roster.

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Instruction: Lead specific drill sessions and technique blocks for the boys’ varsity lineup as directed by the Head Coach.

  • Scouting & Strategy: Assist in scouting opponents and developing individual match strategies for dual meets and WIAA regional/sectional tournaments.

  • Supervision: Assist in the supervision of the locker room, bus travel, and "mat-side" coaching during varsity competitions.

  • Mentorship: Act as a primary mentor for boys’ varsity athletes, focusing on character development and off-season training goals.

 

Professional Standards for All Positions

In accordance with WIAA bylaws and the professional standard you set during your 14 years of head coaching:

  1. Licensure: Must hold a valid Wisconsin teaching license or have completed the WIAA/ASEP/NFHS coaching principles course.

  2. Safety: Must be CPR/AED certified and complete annual WIAA concussion and all other district requirements.

  3. Conduct: Maintain a professional demeanor with officials, parents, and opposing coaches, serving as a role model for student-athletes at all times.

Previous coaching experience preferred.
