Position Details
St. Joseph Catholic Academy is a 3k-12th grade private school. This position will assist at the lower campus and will be supervising students from 3k-5th grade during our lunch hours, 10:30am-1:30pm. This position is part-time and up to 15 hours per week. The Lunchroom Supervisor supports the school community by maintaining a safe, positive, and orderly environment during student lunch periods. This role ensures students practice appropriate behavior, follow school rules, and enjoy a respectful and welcoming atmosphere in the cafeteria.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise students during lunch periods, ensuring safety and appropriate behavior.

Monitor student movement in and out of the cafeteria, including lining up and dismissal procedures.

Encourage respectful interactions and support positive conflict resolution among students.

Assist younger students with opening containers, managing trays, and cleaning up spills.

Enforce cafeteria rules and expectations consistently and fairly.

Respond promptly to any student concerns, accidents, or emergencies and notify school staff when necessary.

Promote a clean and orderly cafeteria environment by encouraging students to clean up their spaces and assisting staff with minor cleanup as needed.

Communicate effectively with school staff regarding student needs, behaviors, or concerns.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience working with children preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to remain calm, fair, and consistent in managing student behavior.

Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Work Schedule:

Part-time, scheduled during school lunch periods (typically between late morning and early afternoon).

Approximately 1.5–3 hours per day, depending on school needs.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and move around the cafeteria for extended periods.

Ability to lift or assist with light items such as lunch trays.
