Position Details
Duties of the Position: We are seeking a skilled Special Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction in a small, highly structured program for students with significant Autism Spectrum Disorder. The ideal candidate will blend Autism expertise, high expectations for student achievement, and a data-driven approach. The teacher will develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEP’s) and progress monitoring, and guide a team of paraprofessionals in a TEACCH‑structured environment. The teacher will collaborate with staff and families to support students’ academic, behavioral, and social development.
Key responsibilities

Design and deliver daily instruction aligned to grade-level standards using TEACCH structured teaching methods (visual schedules, work systems, environmental supports)

Develop and implement IEPs following the CCR IEP Process; ensure goals are aligned to grade-level content standards

Lead and coach paraprofessionals in consistent use of TEACCH strategies, data collection, and reinforcement systems

Implement positive behavior supports, including FBAs and individualized Behavior Support Plans, in collaboration with school psychologist/behavior specialist

Embed communication goals in academic instruction in partnership with SLP; coordinate with OT and other related services

Collect and analyze progress-monitoring data (CBM, work samples, behavioral metrics); adjust instruction based on data

Plan and support inclusion opportunities as appropriate; communicate regularly with families and the IEP team

Maintain compliance with IDEA, FAPE/LRE, and WI DPI expectations
Plan and deliver individualized instruction aligned with student IEP goals.
Manage a self-contained classroom for students with autism (grades 5–8).
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Use evidence-based strategies for students with autism (structured teaching, visual supports, etc.).
Collect and analyze student data to monitor progress and adjust instruction.
Support development of social, behavioral, and communication skills.
Supervise and coordinate work of paraprofessionals
Maintain documentation required for special education compliance.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress.
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Implement behavior support plans and maintain a positive learning environment.
Degree/Special Training Required: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
Valid state teaching license/certification in Special Education.
Certification or endorsement in Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Knowledge of IEP development and special education law.
Experience working with students with autism or developmental disabilities.
7.5 hours 5 days a week
