Westosha Central High School is seeking an innovative Family and Consumer Sciences teacher with an emphasis in culinary and/or early childhood and education pathways. Candidates will have the opportunity to teach other Family and Consumer Sciences classes (See below).
The selected candidate will be innovative, build strong relationships with colleagues, and demonstrate a passion for supporting students. Candidates of all backgrounds and experiences are encouraged to apply.
Westosha Central offers a large number of course offerings in the Family and Consumer Sciences Department; classes include, but are not limited to: Fashion and Design, Interior Design, Food Science, Culinary, Baking and Pastry, Nutrition for Sports, Child Development, health occupations, medical terminology, and advanced childcare classes.
Students taking FCS classes have many opportunities to transcript classes with Gateway Technical College and Madison Area Technical College.
Westosha Central High School has seen a steady increase in student enrollment over the past four years and enrollment will be stable or see a slight increase in years to come. The district recently completed construction on a forty-million-dollar referendum which included brand new FCS classrooms including two new kitchen spaces. The referendum, supported by our community, has provided our students and staff with a state-of-the-art facility.
The successful candidate will demonstrate thoughtful lesson planning, effective instructional design, collaborative skills, and an understanding of various assessment and feedback strategies.

Desired Licensing Qualifications:

1210 Family and Consumer Sciences or be willing to apply for License based on work-based experience and willingness to obtain a teaching license

1211 (Child Care Services) and/or 1213 (Food Services) licenses are a bonus.
