Position Details
Primary Function:
The person selected for this position will be responsible for assisting a classroom teacher in the general development of children with an Individualized Service Plan (ISP). The person selected for this position shall be at least 21 years of age and a high school graduate, complete the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Safeguarding God’s Children training, and pass a criminal background check. This person must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children and employees, and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the school's educational philosophy and mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES shall include, but not be limited to the following:

Assisting teachers in the operation of the instructional plan to develop the educational and social skills of students under the direction of the teacher.

Utilize a variety of instructional materials and procedures to enhance a positive educational environment.

Assist in the implementation of the child’s Individual Service Plan and monitor progress.

Supervising the classroom when the teacher is out of the room.

Assisting the teacher in any other appropriate ways.

Keep data records of progress.

Maintaining professional attitudes in demonstrating your ability to work effectively and cooperatively under the direction of others.

Treating all children with dignity and respect.

Maintaining confidentiality about children, their families, and other employees outside the school.

Follow directions given by the lead teacher or principal.

Support the teacher with other specific needs of the students.
- Must be at least 21 years old
- High School Diploma (college preferred)
- Complete all mandatory Archdiocese of Milwaukee Safe Environment Trainings
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Experience with an Individualized Service Plan (ISP)
