Job Description: Osceola Middle School is seeking a highly qualified, energetic individual for special education who is cross-categorical licensed starting as soon as possible. Osceola Middle School has a student population of approximately 375 students and serves grades 6-8. We are seeking a licensed special education teacher with a strong understanding of students with a variety of emotional, social, and behavioral related needs. Teaching Responsibilities: -Motivate and inspire students with a high level of excitement for learning. -Ability to understand students’ self-regulation and sensory needs. -Ability to write special education evaluations , IEPs and behavioral support plans. -Experience with a variety of standardized assessments and completing progress monitoring. -Ability to relate with students through responsive classroom and PBIS practices. -Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the learning needs of all students. -Excellent verbal communication skills. -Participate and advise in the problem-solving process for students of concern. -Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills. -Collaborate with multiple teams, such as the Leadership Team, PLC Leaders and PLCs, to help all students reach their highest potential. -Serve as a member of the Grade Level PLCs to assist with vertical alignment. -Must be able to maintain a safe, respectful classroom environment and make a positive and substantial contribution to the school and district. -Ability to establish strong working relationships with parents, students and staff - Perform other duties as needed.
