The Beaver Dam Unified School District is seeking an energetic, motivated educator, who has a strong desire to make a positive impact working with students who have learning disabilities, cross-categorical needs, and/or emotional and behavioral disorders. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work in a school with an emphasis on serving and supporting students in an inclusive setting in team teaching and leading smaller special education classes. Candidates should be able to: 1. Successfully manage the needs of students with cross-categorical labels and ensure they are making growth in closing the achievement gap with their academic, behavioral, and social needs. 2. Collect and track student performance data and use that data to drive instruction, craft behavior plans, conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments, and develop IEPs for students. 3. Instruct students in one-on-one, small group, and large group settings to provide multiple layers of core academic support. 4. Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and specialists as a member of an instructional team. 5. Collaborate with parents by providing regular communication and proactively addressing parental questions or concerns that arise. 6. Efficiently manage the time and activities of teacher assistants. All qualified candidates will be expected to: Collaborate with colleagues to improve the learning of all students; positively engage various stakeholders in the school and community; establish and enforce rules consistent with the student code of conduct. BDHS is home to over 1000 students from Beaver Dam and surrounding communities and recently completed 42 million dollars in facility upgrades and is one of the highest quality school facilities in the state. The services for our students are facilitated by 70 teachers, 25 support staff, a robust student services team, and 4 administrators. The academic experience for our students includes over 165 different course offerings, focused into 13 different curricular teams (i.e. English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Business, Music, etc.). BDHS students also have the opportunity to earn college credit by participating in one or more of our 15 transcripted credit offerings, as well as 17 AP course offerings. BDHS is a competitive member of the Badger Conference, offering over 50 opportunities for student involvement.
