Qualifications: Wisconsin DPI License #51 School Occupational Therapy is required.

  • Must meet state certification and licensure requirements

  • Must be able to carry out assigned responsibilities

  • Must demonstrate effective use of the English language, both verbal and written


Major responsibilities include:  

  • Design and implement occupational therapy interventions aligned with the student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and the least restrictive environment principles.

  • Develop individual and small group therapy sessions that parallel the general education curriculum while addressing the student's functional needs and occupational performance.

  • Employ various service delivery models (co-teaching, inclusion, resource room, supplemental, and supplanted instruction) based on the student's needs and educational goals.

  • Collaborate with parents, administrators, specialists, psychologists, and external agencies to develop and monitor IEPs that promote the student's educational, physical, behavioral, and social development.

  • Participate in the district's Child Find processes, including child development screening days, and complete special education referrals and evaluations as needed.

  • Integrate educational technology and assistive technology solutions to support the student's participation and engagement during the IEP process and occupational therapy interventions.

  • Create lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to individual and small group occupational therapy sessions across various educational settings..
