Full Time
The School District of Mayville is looking for a full-time second-shift custodian. This position is 40 hours per week/8 hours per day M-F, second shift (shift hours will include a 30-minute unpaid break). Starting pay is between $14.00 - $18.50 per hour based on experience. There are full benefits offered with this position.
This position requires thoroughness and commitment to ensuring spaces are ready to provide a clean and safe learning environment. Tasks include taking out the trash, tidying, rearranging furniture, and wiping surfaces as needed.
Maintain floors in a clean state by sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, and waxing them
Empty and clean trash receptacles and collect recycling
Daily cleaning and sanitizing of all bathroom facilities, including toilets, sinks, and showers
Restock necessary items (e.g. soap, paper products)
Cleaning of mirrors and windows as needed
Undertake occasional seasonal tasks (e.g. shoveling snow from the sidewalk)
Report any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards to the appropriate department
Lock and unlock windows, doors

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Previous custodial experience preferred but will train the right person
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Able and comfortable squatting, twisting, bending, and kneeling while doing custodial work
Ability to operate and care for custodial equipment and supplies
Must pass background check and drug test
Previous custodial experience preferred but will train the right person
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
