The Unified School District of Antigo is seeking a district wide school social worker with experience/ desire to work to expand our mental health supports and provide for the SEL needs of all students in the district. The goal of the district is to find a unique candidate who can support the social work needs of the district, while also being a part of a team who works to proactively support students before they begin to struggle. We believe that this position is imperative in supporting students and families through a strong tiered approach. In partnership with other pupil services staff, regular education staff, and community partners, it is our commitment to expand the services and support to our most vulnerable students and families, while also building preventative systems. We are looking for someone who approaches this position through an equity lens, working with students and families to connect the school and community to better meet needs. Our goal is to not only expand the services provided through the social work position, but also to support the district in moving our Mental Health Pathway forward with school and community partners.

Skills and Dispositions:
*The ability to use a wide range of evidence-based strategies to ensure that students are in the classroom physically and mentally ready to learn.
*The ability to utilize a strength-based approach that views students and organizations as parts of systems.
*A strong ability to build relationships within and between systems to enhance student learning, including parents, colleagues and the public
*Understanding of and the ability to go out into the greater community to engage families and community organizations to create better outcomes for students (e.g., increased academic achievement, safety, attendance, and social-emotional-behavioral functioning)
* A primary focus on students who are struggling in school due to barriers to learning that may exist within the students or their environments
*The ability to collaborate with other pupil service providers, specifically school counseling and school psychology, to enhance the overall services to students within the district
*Must possess knowledge and skills related to student with special education needs and other special populations
*Must possess knowledge and skills related to alcohol and other drug issues, parent education models and community and family systems
*Must possess the ability to carry out responsibilities in a satisfactory manner
*Experience with Trauma Sensitive Schools and the DPI Mental Health Framework is preferred
