Oconto Unified School District seeks a passionate and dedicated High School Social Studies Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. This position will begin with the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a stimulating and inclusive learning environment where students can develop critical thinking skills, gain historical perspective, and engage with diverse cultures and perspectives.
Key Responsibilities:

- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that align with the school's curriculum and state standards.
- Create a supportive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and academic growth.
- Incorporate various instructional strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in social studies education.
Qualifications:
- Valid WI DPI Social Studies teaching license required (or ability to obtain) (Master's degree preferred).
- Demonstrated knowledge of social studies content areas, including history, geography, economics, and government.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Experience with integrating technology into instruction is desirable.
- Previous teaching experience at the high school level is preferred but not required.
- WI DPI licenses in Sociology, History, and/or Geography are preferred but not required.
