Position Details
Oconto Middle School is seeking a dedicated, student-centered 7th-grade math teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will foster mathematical thinking, problem-solving skills, and confidence in learners while creating a structured, engaging, and supportive classroom environment. We are looking for an educator who is committed to high expectations, collaboration, and building strong relationships with students and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned math instruction aligned to Wisconsin Academic Standards
- Use data to inform instruction and support student growth
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Implement best practices in middle school math instruction
- Maintain a positive classroom climate that supports academic and social-emotional development
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
- Collaborate with colleagues in grade-level and content teams
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
✔️ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
✔️ Certification: Valid Wisconsin teaching license (or ability to obtain)
✔️ Experience: Previous experience teaching middle school math preferred but not required
✔️ Skills: Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
✔️ Passion: Commitment to student growth and a love for teaching
