Oconto Unified School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Middle School Science Teacher to inspire and engage 7th and 8th-grade students. The ideal candidate will foster curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry while creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned science instruction for the 7th & 8th grade students
- Develop hands-on, inquiry-based lessons and laboratory experiences
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Utilize formative and summative assessments to guide instruction
- Integrate technology effectively to enhance learning
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom and lab environment
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
- Collaborate with colleagues
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
✔️ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
✔️ Certification: Valid Wisconsin teaching license (or ability to obtain)
✔️ Experience: Previous experience teaching middle school science preferred but not required
✔️ Skills: Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
✔️ Passion: Commitment to student growth and a love for teaching
