Position Details
Action Research Community High School seeks a founding Family and Enrollment Coordinator to build relationships with families and lead student recruitment for Milwaukee's first Gold Standard project-based learning high school. Opening Fall 2026, ARCHS will serve 80 students in grades 9-12 on Milwaukee's South Side, growing to 160 students at capacity.
The Family and Enrollment Coordinator reports to the Principal and is responsible for student recruitment, enrollment management, family engagement, and community outreach. This is a critical founding role—you will be the first point of contact for families considering ARCHS and the ongoing bridge between school and community.
Our target community is Milwaukee's South Side Latino families in ZIP codes 53204, 53207, 53215, and 53221. Success in this role requires deep cultural competency, authentic relationship-building skills, and genuine connection to our community.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead student recruitment campaigns including school fairs, community events, and partnerships with feeder schools
• Manage the enrollment process from inquiry through enrollment, including applications, lottery (if needed), and registration
• Build and maintain relationships with families, serving as primary liaison between school and home
• Coordinate family engagement events, orientations, and ongoing communication
• Develop partnerships with community organizations, churches, and local businesses
• Create and distribute bilingual marketing materials and school information
• Track enrollment data, maintain waitlists, and report on recruitment progress
• Support student retention through family relationship-building and early intervention

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
• Minimum 2 years experience in enrollment, admissions, community outreach, or family engagement
• Bilingual Spanish-English proficiency (required—this is essential for effective engagement with our community)
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build relationships across cultures
• Proficiency with database systems, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
• School enrollment or admissions experience
• Experience working with Latino families and communities
• Community organizing or grassroots outreach background
• Knowledge of Milwaukee's South Side neighborhoods
• Experience with student information systems
