Job Summary
The Assistant to the Superintendent provides confidential administrative and operational support to the Superintendent, as well as support for district governance and administrative processes. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate records, coordinating meetings and documentation, and assisting with district operations in a professional, organized, and compliant manner. The Assistant to the Superintendent works independently, exercises sound judgment, and manages multiple priorities while supporting the efficient operation of the Superintendent’s office.

Duties/Responsibilities
Provides administrative support to the Superintendent, including correspondence, scheduling, records management, and special projects.
Supports School Board processes by assisting with agenda preparation, attending meetings, recording and publishing minutes, and maintaining official records.
Coordinates logistics for Board and administrative meetings, including public notices, meeting setup, and document distribution.
Maintains permanent and confidential files related to district governance and administrative operations.
Reviews, prioritizes, and manages incoming correspondence and requests, determining appropriate action or follow-up.
Maintains knowledge of governance practices, policies, and procedures, and supports policy updates and documentation.
Assists with compliance-related documentation, required notices, and records management.
Maintains and updates designated administrative and governance sections of the district website.
Supports district communication efforts by preparing and sharing approved information through appropriate channels.
Performs other related duties consistent with the general nature and level of responsibility.

Required Skills/Abilities
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Ability to work productively with administrators, Board members, staff, and the public.
Proficiency with office technology, word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic systems.

Education and Experience
An associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Three to five years of progressively responsible administrative experience required.
Experience in a school district or public sector environment is a plus.
