Essential Duties and Responsibilities
● Oversee the training of football players in collaboration with the coaching staff.
● Assist in developing training plans for athletes.
● Help oversee the operation of specific events at home contests as directed by the Director of Activities.
● Contribute to game lineup planning with other coaches.
● Attend and coach at all practices.
● Attend and coach at all games.
● Assist coaches in monitoring student-athletes’ practice attendance, school attendance, game attendance, and academic performance.
● Assist with equipment and uniform inventory.
● Help enforce team policies.
● Provide student-athletes with feedback regarding performance, behavior, and team skills.
● Successfully complete the required WIAA Rules Exam for football for the fall sports season.
Qualifications
● Demonstrated knowledge of football skills, player development, and game strategies.
● Current CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain within one month of employment) from a national certifying organization.
● Strong communication skills with staff, student-athletes, and parents.
● Competitive football experience at any level.
● Ability to work cooperatively with coaching staff across the program.
● Knowledge of WIAA eligibility standards and commitment to promoting good sportsmanship and adherence to athletic codes.
● Ability to plan, organize, and supervise team operations including schedules, equipment, eligibility, officials, and safety.
● Ability to work positively with a diverse group of student-athletes.
● Ability to integrate the football program into the broader school experience.
● Preferred: Previous coaching experience in football.
● Preferred: Experience implementing football systems in a high school setting.
