Duties of the Position: Duties include, but are not limited to: 

Assist teachers with subject area projects and activities. 

Assist with the supervision and training of students in the development of life skills and performance of daily activities. 

Assist small groups of students or individuals with the interpretation and completion of assignments. 

Provide personal care and hygiene (diapering, toileting, and bathing). 

Implementation of behavioral management strategies. 

Assist with lunch duty.

Transporting of students.

Use of augmentative and assistive communication and technology support. 

Must be able to lift 20-30 pounds 

Work as part of a team to meet the needs of the students in all areas. 

Demonstrate initiative.

Maintain confidentiality. 

Be flexible and able to adapt to the learning environment.

Be an advocate for students with special needs. 

Assist special education students in the regular education classrooms.

Duties may also include lunchroom, bus and/or recess supervision.

Special Skills Required:   

Knowledge of reading, math and social skills instruction. Must be willing to attend training and workshops as deemed necessary.  Must be able to restrain and transport children as necessary.

Must be certified by DPI or eligible for certification for Educational Assistants

5 days a week; 7:30-3:30; December 17, 2025 through January 27; 2026; might be longer
