The School District of Janesville is hiring for a Public Information Officer/Communications Director.

This is a year-round position, beginning as soon as possible.
This position participates in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS). Insurance benefits are also available with this position.
Summary:
The Public Information Officer/Communications Director leads the district's communications, media relations, and public engagement efforts. This role is responsible for promoting the district's mission, building trust with stakeholders, and ensuring clear, consistent, and timely communication across all platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement a district-wide communications and public relations plan
- Serve as the district's spokesperson and primary media contact
- Lead crisis communication and provide timely, accurate information
- Oversee websites, newsletters, social media, and digital communication tools
- Celebrate student, staff, and district achievements through storytelling and marketing
- Strengthen community partnerships and engagement initiatives
- Ensure consistency in branding, messaging, and accessibility across all district communications

Education and/or Experience:

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations/Communications (Master's Degree preferred)
- 5+ Years' Experience in Public Relations
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Wisconsin Teacher Certification and/or Director of Instruction is preferred, but not required.
