Position Details
D.C. Everest is seeking a 6-8th Grade Wrestling Assistant Coach starting with the Winter season of the 2025-2026 school year.
- Create and implement workouts/drills and run daily practice.
- Supervise athletes during practices and games to ensure their safety.
- Participate in team meetings, events, contests, and daily practices.
- Instruct athletes on the sport’s rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques.
- Make sure all athletes are academically, medically, and behaviorally eligible.
- Give diligent attention to every athlete’s physical condition before, during, and after every contest.
- Responsible for the treatment and reporting of injuries sustained by athletes in practices or competition.
- Provide direct, visible supervision of the locker room before and after practice.
- Determine strategies for games and tournaments.
- Establish a program roster and exchange information with scheduled opponents.
- Enforce all rules of eligibility and rules governing athletic contests.
- Govern themselves per the WIAA rules and regulations.
- Care of all equipment and facilities.
- Attend all coaches/sports meetings.
- Advocate for the D.C. Everest Strength & Performance program.
- $1,900 stipend

Screening will begin after three days, and candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

- Be a certified teacher or meet WIAA CNLT requirements, within one year.
- First Aid/CPR/AED/Concussion certified, within one year.
- Previous coaching experience preferred.
- Write the WIAA Rules Exam for that sport, annual requirement.
- View the WIAA Sports Specific Sports Meeting and Quiz, annual requirement.
- Have a belief that sportsmanship is critical to the success of the program.
- Be knowledgeable in sport specific fundamentals.
- Have a student and team focus.
- Be a proponent of education-based athletics.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively with groups and individuals.
- Some weekends may be required.
