DeForest Area School District is located just ten miles northeast of Madison in Dane County. We offer outstanding facilities and a competitive salary and benefits package.
This full-time position is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to staff and students, ensuring the smooth operation of all user-facing systems and technology within the district.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide first-level and second-level technical support to district staff and students via ticketing system, phone, email, and in-person.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on a variety of devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones (e.g., Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, iOS, Android)
Install, configure, and maintain user-facing software and applications.
Manage user accounts and permissions in various systems, including Active Directory, Google Workspace, Linewize, Clever, and specialized educational software.
Assist with the deployment and management of technology devices and equipment.
Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues for end-users.
Collaborate on training for staff and students on the use of technology.
Collaborate with other members of the technology department to identify and implement solutions to recurring technical issues.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology or Network Administrator.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an IT support or help desk role; preferred.
Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS operating systems.
Experience with Google Workspace for Education is a plus.
Familiarity with network concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and troubleshooting.
Experience with an IT ticketing system.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
