Technology Technician / Support Specialist
Position Description
Position Title: Technology Technician / Support Specialist
Department: Technology
Reports to: Director of Technology
SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:
Installs and operates computer software, systems and networks. Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs of computers, iPads, computer networks and other audio-visual equipment. Serves as a technical trainer and troubleshooter for the District.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of a two-year associate degree in computer technology or the equivalent.

CompTIA A+, Microsoft, Google, ITIL, Network and Security Certifications preferred.

Preferred Knowledge: Microsoft/Linux Server Operating Systems, Microsoft Active Directory, Apple and Windows Operating Systems, MECM, Skyward, Infinite Campus, Clever, NIM, VMware, PRTG, Fortinet Products, Aruba, Mitel, Avigalon, CMS4Schools.

Experience in installing and troubleshooting LAN and WAN networks.
SKILL SET/ABILITIES:
Confident, detailed self-starter who can work efficiently independently, yet makes positive contributions to the IT Team. Shall be continuously interacting with students, parents, and other staff. Frequently will be required to meet multiple demands from several people and communicate effectively. Ability to use common sense understanding to carry out detailed documentation. Ability to deal with everyday problems to their conclusion. Ability to use problem solving in technical applications. Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES and OUTCOMES/RESULTS:

Assist in training and provide technical support for staff.

Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and cleaning of technical equipment.

Deployment of updates, apps, and extensions via MECM, JAMF, Mosyl, Google Admin Console

Maintain an inventory of district-owned and/or licensed computer software and hardware.

Ensure network hardware/software compatibility.
-
Inspect, identify, install and manage computer equipment, LAN hardware and software.
-
Create and monitor device images, policies restricting or maintaining devices, device upgrades, and performance needs.

Assist in supporting the administration of web pages.
-
Maintain network security and backups.

Assist in user and account provisioning.
-
Assist with set up and provide technical support for all audio visual equipment.

Contribute to recommendations for school technology improvement.

Configure and maintain network connections.

Remain up to date on the latest school technologies and implementation.

Installation of physical phone lines, interactive TVs, etc.
-
Other duties as assigned.
