Suring Public Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Special Education Teacher to support diverse learners in a rural, student-centered community. The ideal candidate will bring a growth mindset, strong knowledge of special education best practices, and a commitment to collaboration with colleagues, families, and the community. We are looking for an educator who demonstrates collaboration by working closely with staff and families, embraces challenges and continuous growth, applies evidence-based practices to meet diverse student needs, and supports the whole child academically, socially, and emotionally. Strong communication skills, creativity, flexibility, and problem-solving abilities are essential for building positive relationships and fostering student success. Time is of the essence, qualified candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized instruction and support for students with a variety of needs, including academic, social-emotional, and behavioral.

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with students, families, and staff. 

  • Schedule and prioritize instructional time to effectively meet the needs outlined in each student’s IEP.

  • Use evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions to support student growth.

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and administrators to create inclusive learning environments. 

  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet changing needs.

  • Foster positive relationships with students and families, encouraging open communication and partnership.

  • Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practices to continually improve teaching effectiveness.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education (Master’s degree preferred). 

Valid Wisconsin teaching license in Special Education or eligibility to obtain licensure.
Knowledge of current laws and regulations governing special education.
Experience working with elementary-age students is preferred.
